  • Complete Background Evaluation: Verifies references and conducts criminal background checks.
  • Competency Evaluation: Verifies that the applicant has proper education certifications and work experience.
  • Orientation Competency Evaluation: Tests determine the applicant’s knowledge of key competencies.
  • Continuous Evaluation: Based on the client’s job description, the applicant is screened for client-specific competencies to ensure a perfect match.
Healthcare best practices are constantly evolving, and continuing education is critical for healthcare professionals. To keep and encourage our healthcare professionals on the cutting edge of technology and clinical competencies, we offer free training courses through RN.com and we provide continual in-house training.

Pre-Employment

All prospective caregivers must have successfully completed a rigorous screening program which includes:

  • Reference and thorough criminal background checks
  • Motor vehicle record
  • Health care license verification
  • Clear health physical including test for TB
  • Successfully pass a written and hands-on competency test

On-Going Supervision & Education

  • On-site visits by the Nurse Supervisor to the patient’s home
  • Weekly review of the caregiver’s notes documenting each patient visit and comparing to Doctor’s orders and Care Plan objectives
  • Individual employee-supervisor conferences
  • Discussions with the patient and Nova Home Health support staff
  • Mandatory Annual Continuing Education Requirements
  • Nova Home Health also has a strict alcohol and drug abuse “no-tolerance” policy with random testing conducted.

Bonded Insured

  • All caregivers are bonded to cover theft or damage to a patient’s property. They are also insured by a AAA-rated national company for professional/general liability and workers compensation policy. Combined, these coverages should give the patient and family the peace of mind they seek in a financially secure agency.

How Is Personal Care Paid For?
